1. Choose menu option 'Circulation'
2a. Enter the borrower's barcode in the box labelled "Borrower" If you don't know the barcode or have chosen not to use barcodes enter the borrower's surname instead. If the app finds more than 1 match a picker box will appear. Highlight the correct entry and the corresponding barcode will be entered in the borrower box.
2b . Enter the item's barcode in the box labelled "Item" In the same way as above if you don't have a barcode enter the first few characters of the item's title and a picker box will appear with a list of matches. Choose the correct match and it's barcode will appear in the Item box
2c. Assuming the item is available for lending the button labelled "Issue" will turn green. Tap the button and the item will be issued an appear in the table.
3. Return/ Renew
Either enter the borrower barcode first as above or enter the item barcode. If the borrower is not present you will have to enter the item barcode first. If you enter the borrower barcode first all the items currently on loan to the borrower will be displayed in the table. Enter the item barcode and the buttons labelled "Return" and "Renew" will turn green. You can either renew or return the item. If you tap the "Return" button the item will be returned to status "SHE" and disappear form the table. If you tap the "Renew" button the item will be re-issued with and new due back date.
Reservations can be done on the circulation screen. Enter the barcode of borrower who wishes to reserve the item. Use the method above if you don't have a borrower barcode. Enter the barcode of the item you wish to reserve. If you don't have the barcode use the method above. If the item is indeed on loan to another borrower the app will ask if you wish to reserve it. Tap "OK" and the item will be placed in the reservation queue.
Eventually the item will be returned to the library. When it is returned as described above the app will tell you that the item has been reserved and give you the name of the borrower who reserved it. You should then place it in a safe place.
Eventually the borrower who reserved the item will return to the library, perhaps after having received an email to say the item is available. Enter the borrower barcode as above and the app will tell you that the item is ready for collection. It then can be issued as described above.
Return dates are calculated with reference to: borrower privileges, item privileges and closed days or can be entered manually. For details see the help section on lending privileges.
